Rural Preservation Company of Clinton County has been servicing communities and individuals in need of house rehabilitation, affordable/accessible living, and necessary home reparations since 1987. We are currently completing 4 grants, and continue to seek additional funding that would benefit the residents of Clinton County. RPC applies annually for state and federal grants to assist in home rehabilitation. If you are in need of home repairs, please fill out the application below:


AHC for clinton county

AFFORDABLE HOUSING CORPORATION GRANT: The New York State Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC) administers State funds to help subsidize the cost of the renovation of existing housing. RPC uses this grant to fulfill the development, stabilization, and preservation of its community and create homeownership opportunities for low and moderate-income families in Clinton County, NY.

Eligibility guidelines are as follows:
-The eligible participant must own and reside in the home
-The home must be located in Clinton County
-The recipient must meet the income eligibility guidelines

Property improved with this grant requires a 3, 5, or 10-year lien on the home, depending on the amount of funding used to do renovations.


Access To Home

The Access to Home Program provides financial assistance to Clinton County property owners to make dwelling units accessible to low- and moderate-income persons with physical disabilities, and seniors with an age-related disability. Access to Home assistance enables individuals to safely and comfortably remain in their residence and avoid institutional care.

Eligibility guidelines for Access to Home are as follows:
-Documented substantial limitation caused by a disability
-Household income at or below 80% of area median
-Residential unit must be the primary, permanent residence of eligible participant

Any property improved with ATH grant funding requires a 3-year lien on the home.


ACCESS TO HOME FOR HEROES/VETERANS

The Access to Home for Heroes/Veterans Program provides financial assistance to veteran property owners living in Clinton County. This program was established to assist veterans with overcoming a significant impediment to accessible and affordable housing because of service-related injuries, age, or health related disabilities. With the Access to Home for Heroes/Veterans Program, assistance may be provided to make accessibility modifications, emergency home repairs, or address code violations related to the primary residences of low- and moderate-income veterans with disabilities. Such activities will enable veterans with disabilities to live in their residences safely and comfortably, rather than in an institutional setting.

Eligibility guidelines for Access to Home for Heroes/Veterans are as follows:
-Qualifying veteran status
-Documented substantial limitation caused by a disability
-Household income not to exceed 120% of area median
-Residential unit must be the primary, permanent residence of eligible participant.

Any property improved with ATH for Heroes/Veterans grant funding requires a 3-year lien on the home.


RESTORE Program

The RESTORE (Residential Emergency Services To Offer [home] Repairs to the Elderly) Program funds will assist senior citizen homeowners in Clinton County with the cost of addressing emergency repairs and code violations that pose a threat to their health and safety, or are affecting the livability of their home. Assistance for the cost of these critical repairs will enable seniors to continue to live independently in their homes.

Eligibility guidelines for RESTORE are as follows:
-Participant owns and occupies the residential unit receiving assistance as a primary residence
-Must be 60 years of age or older
-Household income not to exceed 100% of area median income

Any property improved with RESTORE grant funding requires a 3-year lien on the home
